Living Things

Things that are alive are called living things.

All living things need air, food and water to stay alive.

Human being, plants and animals are living things.

Non-Living Things

Non-living things are not alive.

They do not breathe, eat, move on their own, grow or have young.

Some non-living things were once live.

These things come from plants and animals.

Wood comes from trees. We use wood for many things.

Trees are living but wood is non-living. When wood is cut from a tree it stop growing, so it is no longer alive. 

Some things have never been alive, such as water, stone, metal and plastic.
