A vegetable that is usually green, red, or yellow, has a rounded shape, and is hallow with seeds in the middle.

A pink vegetable that looks like a potato and has yellow or white flesh and a sweet taste.
Syrup
A syrup is a very sweet, sticky, liquid.
Takoyaki
A Japanese snack of savory ball-shaped cakes containing chopped octopus, made from wheat batter cooked on a specially shaped griddle.
Tea
A hot drink that you make by pouring boiling water over the dried leaves of the tea plant.
Tempeh
An Indonesian dish made by deep-frying fermented soybeans.
Toast
Toast is a slice of bread that has been cooked until it is crisp and brown.
Tofu
A soft, pale food that has very little flavour but is high in protein, made from seed of the soya plant.
Tomato
A tomato is a soft, round, red fruit that you can eat raw in a salad or cook as a vegetable.
Tortilla
A type of thin, round Mexican bread from maize or wheat flour.
Tuna
A tuna is a large sea fish that you can eat. The flesh of this fish eaten as food: a can of tuna.
Turnip
A round root with white or cream flesh which is eaten as a vegetable.
Umeboshi
(In Japanese ciusine) a pickled ume fruit, having a distinctive sour and salty flavour.
Vanilla
Vanilla is something that is added to ice cream and other sweet food to make it taste nice.
Vinegar
Vinegar is a sour liquid which you use in cooking to give a sharp, sour taste to food.
Waffle
A type of bread or cake made from batter (a thin mixture of milk, flour, and egg) cooked in a special pan whose surface forms a pattern of raised squares.
Walnut
A nut with a slightly bitter taste, a series of folds in it, and a hard shell.
Watermelon
A large, round or oval-shaped fruit with dark green skin, sweet pink flesh, and a lot of black seeds.
Wrap
A thin flat piece of bread that is rolled around a filling (as of meat, fish, or vegetables).
Xacutti
Xacutti is a curry prepared in Goa, India, with complex spicing.
Yoguht
A slightly sour, thick liquid made from milk with bacteria added to it, sometimes eaten plain and sometimes with sugar, fruit, etc added.
Zucchini
A long, thin vegetable with a dark green skin. Zucchini and cucumber may look similar. By touch, zucchini are more rough and dry, while cucumbers are more cold, waxy, and bumpy.
